Hello wonderful readers! It’s been a few weeks since I’ve updated and I didn’t want to leave you guys hanging. So where have I been? Well, November 1st is the start of Nanowrimo! It’s national novel writing month! It’s this fun (stressful, terrifying, insane) endeavor to write 50,000 words in 30 days, which amounts to a short novel (or roughly one half, of a fantasy novel which is my genre). Anyway! October has been “preptober” so I’ve been busy prepping my novel, which is why the radio silence!
So I’m going to be stepping away from my blog, continuing into November, as I write feverishly and furiously! It’s a great exercise for writers to help you silence that inner critic, learn your own writing process, and build good daily writing habits, and just get the words out!
You don’t have to be a writer to participate either, and though it’s geared towards us long form fiction writers, there is a slew of rebels writing short stories, memoir etc. The main goal is 50,000 words. It’s still not to late to join if this sounds like something you want to do as well. My first nano, I started a week late. I encourage you to participate. Even if it’s just a commitment to journaling. It’s a wonderful exercise! And who knows, maybe you will have something ready for editing and publishing when you’re done, that’s my hope!
My 8 year old has set her own word count goal as well. She is super excited, and is going to be writing some Wings Of Fire fan fiction (also an option!)
So check it out and www.nanowrimo.org to sign up, if it’s something your interested in!
And I’ll see you in December!
